  • Joe Rohde retiring from Imagineering

What a beautiful Instagram post. I'm sad to see him go, but my goodness, he's done his time - 40 years. I doubt there are many people around these days who've spent that amount of time at the same company.
Today, Joe Rohde announced via his Instagram account that he is retiring from Walt Disney Imagineering after 40 years.

Wow. He'll and his projects will be missed but I wish him well in whatever he embarks on now.

He will definitely be missed. I too wonder who they will get to lead the DCL Lighthouse Point project.

I was saddened when I read the news, but I understand his need to move on. He has such a creative mind and will be missed. Thanks for posting as I hadn't seen his Instagram post, very special!

It's hard to imagining Imagineering without Joe Rohde. Sort of like Walt, himself, you just felt like he would always be there. I completely understand why he feels that this is the "right" time for him to move on. I'm sure this will not be the last time we hear of him and his ideas and designs. He has an amazing mind and skill. He will definitely be missed at Disney.

I just saw this on Twitter! I’m so sad to see him go, but I wish him the best. I wonder what will happen with DCL’s Lighthouse Point. I was so excited that he was going to be designing it.

I feel that way too when I read the post. Somehow I'd always thought he'd be there as well.

I hadn't thought about that. He was obviously leading on it, but no doubt will have had a team around him, so I guess they'll continue without him?
