  • Enchanted/Disenchanted

I was looking for something to watch tonight, and picked Enchanted, since its sequel, Disenchanted, is now out. I saw it many years ago (came out in 2007) and just remembered the basic plot: fairy tale princess ends up in "real" life, and also that Timothy Spall (Peter Pettigrew in the Harry Potter movies) was in it.

So many surprises with the actors: Amy Adams is the star....but Idina Menzel (Elsa from Frozen) was in it, and Susan Sarandon was the wicked queen.

And I just now saw that Jodi Benson (The Little Mermaid) had a small part, too!

Y'all might have already known all this, but it was news to me.

I'll be watching Disenchanted within the week, I think.

I must admit I only remember the basic plot. I certainly didn't remember all the actors who you listed as being in it.

Enjoying some relaxation time on the Transatlantic cruise on the Disney Magic - I'm Cheryl and with my husband Mark, we love visiting Disney and exploring the world...

Going further down the rabbit hole, we discovered that Timothy Spall was also in Chicken Run, in which he played--surprise!--a rat.

The real surprise there was seeing Imelda Staunton (Professor Umbridge from Harry Potter) was also in that movie. Who knew that movie would have TWO HP links?

Enchanted really is adorable. If you have Disney+, it's worth watching again.

I should've added that Amy Adams and Timothy Spall were the only two I recognized during the movie; I had to google the cast to find out the rest. I am not at all good in general at recognizing actors, especially voice actors.

I love Enchanted and consider it one of Disney’s unsung gems. I have hesitated to watch Disenchanted, because I am afraid it won’t be as endearing. I will break down, but I need to bolster my courage a bit longer.

I will have to brag a little, as I recognized TWO voice actors in Disney's Strange World tonight: Jake Gyllenhaal and Jaboukie Young-White.

The first I only recognized because I'd just seen him on Colbert very recently, and the second was a regular on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.

I love Enchanted! I remember taking my nieces to see it in the theater when it first came out. I watched it several times since then and think it is a great movie!

I watched Disenchanted last night, and while I still like Enchanted much more, I enjoyed Disenchanted a lot, too. I’ll definitely watch it again.
