No H&V Availability?

Weird...I am making our ADRs for next May. I got Artist Point, no problem. I got CRT, no problem. Hollywood and Vine is showing no availability. Literally every other TS restaurant and DHS is available. Something’s not right, right? We had a very good breakfast there last year, and we want to try the dinner buffet and get the Minnie and friends characters. For now, I reserved Sci-Fi, so we’ve got a spot for dinner. I assume that H&V will open up at some point, but if not, I’ll have a burger and shake at Sci-Fi.

Interesting. I have no idea why as I wouldn't think of that as a highly sought after adr.

I wonder if it is closing briefly for refurbishment or something like that. With all the new stuff going on at DHS, they could be revamping it.

That's a possiblity, and a good one at that, that I hadn't thought of. Of course, I didn't come up with any possible explanations excellent or otherwise.

That was my instant thought. Usually when this happens, it's the first indication that a restaurant is closing for refurbishment.

If you call Disney Dining they can probably tell you and make a reservation if its its possible.

It was magically available today, so I switched the ADR from Sci-Fi to Hollywood and Vine. We’re going to give it a try. We don’t expect gourmet, but as I said, our breakfast was good. The food was hot, plentiful, and the buffet line was well kept. That’s really all I want for dinner. Our server was good, too. We’re booked, and we’ll see how we like it.

How strange! Maybe it was just a glitch with the system yesterday? We all know how good Disney technology is, right?

The Studios just doesn't have good QS options and even though I booked H&V for breakfast (which for the second time was really enjoyable) I kept going back and fourth over getting a dinner ADR here too. With Toy Story Land being so new, I expected to spend a lot of time there so when it came down to spending time in the new land and spending time for second ADR at H&V, I chose TSL instead.

Well, we wanted the Minnie and Friends group of characters this time, and I figured a 6:00ish dinner would be a welcome break. I’ll have to decide if I want to roll the dice on the Woody’s Lunchbox breakfast. I’m thinking probably not, because I suspect it might be swamped early in the morning. We will be staying at AoA, so breakfast there would be easier, and then we’d be ready to hit the ground running once we get to the park.

I agree about the lack of CS at DHS. We’ve never tried ABC Commissary. Backlot Express is fine, but the Sunset Boulevard CS is not my favorite in the Orlando heat.

Anyway, we are looking forward to trying the evening at H&V. In fact, we not only got every single ADR, but we got really great seating times. I like to try for 6:00, and every one of them for this trip are 5:45-6:15, except Artist Point. I wanted it a bit later, since that’s arrival day and I didn’t want to be rushed after check-in. I preferred 7:30, and I got 7:25. I really couldn’t believe my luck. I thought I might struggle with getting a decent time for our CRT breakfast, but I got 8:30, which absolutely thrills me. So far, so good on the planning.

That's all awesome Susan. I'm sure you'll enjoy the dinner - and it probably will be a welcome break. As I said, with our schedule though, I just couldn't see eating breakfast at H&V and then going back later that day for dinner as working out well for us. If and when we go back - if this dinner option is still available, I will look into it again. We "need" to leave some of the parks early and if making an ADR for dinner and then leaving after is the way we do it, then that's the way I'll have to work it. We're nowhere close to even paying for a trip let alone planning it so between now and then, who knows what will change
