  • Walk Up Wait List? Updated with day of results

Let’s try another question. Has anyone tried the walk up wait list at a TS restaurant? I see that is available for Garden Grill, and I might like to try it. At this point, there are almost no ADR times available for my upcoming dates.

Also, any idea how close you need to be to the restaurant before putting yourself on the wait list?

We haven't ever tried that, but I've seen people say you need to be nearby. It can be anywhere from immediately to a half hour or more after you sign onto the list that you'll get a table. That's assuming anything becomes available, of course.

You can reply with an "on the way" text when texted there's a table for you if you aren't in the immediate vicinity.

Okay. Assuming I can’t get an ADR, I guess I’ll just give it a try on the day. A half hour or so wait certainly seems reasonable enough.

Try the day/evening before to see what's available. We've often scored some we could not get before our trip no matter how often we tried.

Now that the cancellation without fee deadline is up to 2 hours prior to the ADR time, you might happen onto something wonderful with persistence.

We'll be trying that if we can't snag a Space 220 before we leave.

Updating to say that I am now at Epcot, and I was able to join the walk up wait list for Garden Grill. I was in the Awesome Planet show at 11:30, opening time for GG, and I was able to discreetly use the app to access the wait list. I’m just waiting for my notification to be seated. It seems to be an easy process.

In answer to the question of how close you need to be, the answer is basically at the entrance of The Land pavilion. I got several “You are not close enough” messages before I got to the pavilion. Then I got another one telling me the restaurant wasn’t open yet, so you have to be THERE, and you have to wait until they OPEN.

              The food was good!

I wondered how the walk up wait list worked. Thanks for the update! We'll be there early evening on Friday!

I check the walk-up lists occasionally, mainly out of curiosity.

Places like Liberty Tree Tavern, Hollywood & Vine, Biergarten, and Garden Grill, which are nice but not "premium," seem to have walk-ups relatively frequently. Oga's Cantina often has walkups available--but remember that it's a bar and not a restaurant.

Sci-Fi Dine-In is pretty hard to get into; they have non-car tables for walk-ups, but you must have to request it pretty early to get one.
