Disney/Universal Trip

Well, it only took my family about six months to figure out our vacation plans for this summer, but we are finally booked!

We'll be staying at the Yacht Club for five nights with five-day park hoppers and then we'll be heading over to Universal and staying at Cabana Bay for four nights. I have mixed feelings about the Universal part of our trip. Part of me is super excited and looking forward to trying something new, especially Volcano Bay (we've wanted to go there since it opened) and part of me is hoping I'm not secretly wishing I was still in Disney. I'm sure it will be great, but sometimes it is hard to try something new.

Sounds like a wonderful trip...a good mix of the familiar and something new. Getting to Universal at some point is on our wish list.

Congrats! We've only been to Universal once back in June 2011. I was concerned about preferring WDW, so Luke said we'd go to Universal first. I think for me that helped as I knew whether I liked it or not, we'd soon be back in the Disney bubble. I loved all the Harry Potter stuff, but neither Stefanie nor I were into all the roller coasters/ thrill rides that make up Universal. We still had a great three days at US/IOA.

I really wanted to go to Universal first, too, because then I knew I would still have the Disney portion to look forward to, but we could only get a discount to stay at the Yacht Club if we went to Disney at the beginning of our trip. I will say, the more I research Universal the more excited I get, and I - along with the rest of my family - cannot wait to go to Volcano Bay! That waterpark looks awesome!
