  • Question of the Day 5/18/23

    Good Thursday, pixies!

Do you do any particular daily exercise? For the past 3 months, I have made a real effort to walk at least 5 days a week. I am using a step counter to help keep myself accountable.

I walk briskly (2-3mph) weekdays for at least a mile, preferably 2.

Gotta keep in shape for that annual WDW walking. I rarely feel it's too much for me there as a result.

I walk my dog twice a day, every day.
That might sound boring, but I think the boring stuff is the stuff I remember the most.

Not daily, but I have been trying to walk more so I do better on our upcoming trip to WDW in late October. Last week we walked at the local reservoir and I did pretty well. I’ve been reading up about walking and to really be in the zone where you gain the most benefits you need to walk at a brisk pace which is between 3.5 and 4 mph. I walked 2.25 miles in 35 minutes which was a 3.86 mph. Not bad for an out of shape 60 year old. 😁

I walk a lot, but I have been remiss about swimming recently - more due to work pressures than anything. I like to go twice a week, but haven't got back to the pool since we got home at the start of the month.

I do a lot of walking. Most of it at work. I also walk the dogs. It will probably slow down a bit once I start radiation therapy. Later in the treatment the fatigue will set in. Fun times …. 🙄
Over 100 pounds gone. Diabetes is in remission, no more insulin. So grateful to have done weight loss surgery ( duodenal switch).

We walk 5 or 6 days a week. I lift small weights 3 or 4 days a week and use stretch bands alternating with the weights.

I've done high intensity strength training with a personal trainer 3 days a week for almost 14 years now. And about a year ago I bought a rowing machine so I use that 2 or 3 days during the week. Sundays I rest.

I did physical therapy late last year and early this year. I try my best to keep up with the exercises which greatly reduced my hip pain and improved my balance.

I also walk my son's dog and walk to pick up the grandkids at school.
