  • Reading Challenge 2022

A new year has begun, and that it means it's time to start a whole new reading challenge. Let us know your reading goal for 2022.

I'm setting my goal at 115. That is 5 books over my goal last year. I did read 134 books in 2021, but I have already purchased two books that are over 700 pages. They are by authors I love, but it takes me longer to read these. I started Go Tell the Bees I Am Gone before Christmas. It is hefty at 969 pages, three times the length of most of the books I read. Because I've chosen some lengthier reads, I don't want to set my goal beyond my reach.

I am excited to begin another year of reading!

I've been watching for this post. Last year was my first time. I set my goal then at 100 and hit 119. This year I am going out on a limb and challenging myself to read 120. I really loved rereading some of my favorite series last year and plan to do that again with some more of them.

I might need to add this to my list. I looked it up on Amazon and am intrigued and oddly charmed by the premise and story line. And, while I'm not fan of the Narnia books I have read The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe.

I said I would read 60 but only made it to 49. For this year I'm going to set my goal at 50.

I'm currently reading Robert F Kennedy Jr's book on covid. It's an eye opener. Many many footnotes.
            My trips:
1975 Honeymoon Ft Wilderness in a tent; 1985 off site; 2002 Port Orleans Riverside and last trip 2016 All Stars Music

I use Goodreads to track and find books. My 2021 goal was 250 and I almost doubled that.

My goal for 2022 is also 250

And I thought Cam and I were the prolific readers in this group. I'm impressed!!

It is such a sweet story! I'm huge Chronicles of Narnia fan, though I didn't read any of them until college. I studied English lit as part of my English minor and read articles and books by C. S. Lewis on mythology. In fact, I read almost everything C. S. Lewis wrote.

I had no idea he'd written books on mythology. Of course, I don't know much about other than that he wrote the narnia books and that he was one of the more "interesting" authors.

He and J. R. R. Tolkien were friends and both experts in Norse mythology, and maybe some others.

Thanks for teaching, teach. Just another reason why I love my pixies. I learn something from them every day or at least most days.

I'm jumping in this year! I love to read - I am a middle school librarian after all - but I just don't have as much time for reading as I'd like these days. I am going with a low reading goal for this year, but I am hoping to read much more than my goal. Right now, I have set my goal at 20 books.

#1 - Winter Street by Elin Hilderbrand
#2 - Winter Stroll by Elin Hilderbrand

These two books are part of a four book series, but I have some other books I'd like to read before I finish the series. I like the series enough to want to see what happens, but I don't love it as much as I thought I would.

Glad to have another reader along! When I taught, I never got to read as much as I would have liked. I was an English teacher and reading student writing took up a lot of my reading time. Good luck!

Back before I was a librarian, I taught 6th grade ELA. It took my forever to grade all the writing pieces, so I totally understand your pain.
