I had a feeling it might be like that - funnily enough, I said to Mark last night exactly that, that you probably feel like a weight has come off your shoulders.

Oh a return trip to Edinburgh... bummer! We'll definitely take you up on that at some point.

Enjoying some relaxation time on the Transatlantic cruise on the Disney Magic - I'm Cheryl and with my husband Mark, we love visiting Disney and exploring the world...

Congratulations Hazel!! As Dorothy always said, "there's no place like home". After all these years of business travel, it will feel so wonderful to be home for good.

I followed your job moves with admiration and interest. I couldn't believe how easily you seemed to move half way across the world and also deal with having some of your children half way across the world. It is wonderful to hear you are back home and hopefully there for good. Teaching secondary school maths is another challenge although I am sure it could be lots of fun (My kids all loved and admired their high school calculus teacher)

Well it has been a stressful couple of weeks and it is not over yet but I have stopped doubting myself and thinking the worst and I am back to positive vibes. To met the required start date for the teaching post and to get myself moved back to Scotland in time I had to resign immediately but here schools move on their own time. In fact I won't be employed by the school at all but the local council. Two weeks after accepting the role I still had nothing in writing. I was starting to get worried that my unusual situation was too much for them to handle and it would all fall through. A full two weeks after my verbal acceptance I got an email saying they couldn't confirm my address. so I sent them my council tax bill (ironically paid to them) and they were happy. Next day I finally got an email with my conditional offer. in writing Now all they need to do is check my police record and my references none of which I am worried about other than how long it will take., So maybe a month after i resigned my role I will probably have a contract and a fully agreed start date. I have never taken an employment risk like this but this feels so right I just need to make it happen.

Ironically I was in Aberdeen working on Friday and had lunch with an old friend who still works for a consultancy I worked with her at 10 years ago. She told me there is a part time job for me with them in Edinburgh if I need it so I think we will be fine no matter what.

I am just happy to have my faith back that this is the right path and that it will all work out fine.
